Capri Bathroom

Brief :  Update toilet cubicle into a downstairs bathroom with a walk-in shower.

Atmosphere : Awkwardly cramped toilet on ground floor used for a rented shared house. Avoided most of the time, for the space feeling cold and uncomfortable. The out of date fixtures and fittings and the poorly ‘tiled’ and half-finished walls was enough to push the client to get it upgraded.

Client’s style :  Minimal style, easy maintenance and live-in vibe.  Has shabby-chic furniture and favourite colour is grey.

Space was limited, therefore, a lot of items were focused mainly on size. Short projection toilet, 25cm width vanity, cloakroom tap and thin, but long radiator.

The door stayed the same, opening outwards, in respect of maximising walk path into the bathroom.

When pairing down items, it became apparent that the client liked angular styles rather than softly curved items.

We then went for a moody grey vanity that matched the anthracite radiator and paired it with chrome finishes in the square rainfall shower and tap.

Same floor and wall tiles totally enclosed the shower cubicle but were only splash backs near the vanity. In a soft white with grey marble flecks. Making space feel bigger than it was.
